Hobby Lobby, Five Below to set up shop in new Greenville County shopping center

Greenville County Councilman Joe Dill confirms both stores, others still in question

Hobby Lobby and Five Below will be in a new shopping center off North Pleasantburg Drive and Furman Hall Road in the Cherrydale area, according to Greenville County Councilman Joe Dill. The lot, now under construction, has been the center of curiosity in recent weeks. The owner of the property, which is Carolina Holdings, Inc., posted a site plan on its website which indicates the center will encompass more than 100,000 square feet of retail space. One building in the site plan is set for 55,000 square feet and another will be 21,000 square feet, among other others. “It’s just a big empty space, so I was hoping something would go in there eventually, but more business in this area is always needed,” said Brock Kirchner, who was at the nearby Cherrydale Point shopping center Monday afternoon. “This is the first time I’m hearing about it. I’ve seen the site, so I just didn’t know what it was (but I’m) very excited,” said Nikki Hodges, another shopper. As for traffic infrastructure, one neighbor said she’d like to see a left turn arrow on the traffic light at Furman Hall Road heading onto Pleasantburg Drive. WYFF News 4 has reached out to Carolina Holdings, Inc. for more information.
