NYPD releases photos of 2 in masks sought in Staten Island hair-salon shooting

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police released photos of two individuals in ski masks sought in connection with a shooting that injured innocent bystanders — a woman and girl — inside a beauty shop on Victory Boulevard in Tompkinsville.

In one of the photos, an individual appears to be holding a gun in one hand while running down the street in broad daylight. The person is wearing a glove on one hand and is dressed completely in dark clothing, including a hoodie, ski mask, pants and sneakers.

Another blurry photo shows a second individual on the run wearing a hoodie, ski mask and dark pants with a light-colored vertical stripe.

Police allege that two masked gunmen fired from the street into Bousso African Hair Braiding, at 63 Victory Blvd., around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bullet holes were seen in the window of the hair salon where a 17-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the head, while a 35-year-old woman was shot twice in the buttocks.

The injured were taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton and are expected to survive, according to police.

The two females were innocent bystanders waiting to get their hair done inside the salon. In addition, detectives believe the gunmen may have been shooting at somebody who was in front of the building, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

At the scene, the NYPD Emergency Service Unit and officers from the 120th Precinct could be seen searching for evidence inside and outside the premises.
