Thank god for Fashion Month. Kicking off the 2022 festivities, NYFW historically delivers unprecedented levels of Fall/Winter inspo. And, despite some big names missing from the schedule, it didn’t disappoint. Proenza Schouler, Christian Siriano, Hardware LDN, designers from all walks of the industry stunned with cold-weather collections. But in the end, the beauty moments really stole the show. After a whirlwind week of runways, these are the eight NYFW trends we’ll be seeing all year long.
1. Super Sleek
Minimalist hair looks took center-stage this time around at NYFW. The Tory Burch show gave us high-shine, combed-over moments that are understated and sophisticated. And the Bronx and Banco show proved the low pony is the best accessory to any outfit. Created by Moroccanoil Artistic Director Kevin Hughes, Bronx and Banco’s super sleek and glossy ponytails wowed the runway.

2. Middle Parts
Gen Z can rejoice—middle parts are here to stay. Just look at Michael Kors. This center part is razor sharp and super chic.

3. Tight Top Knots
Muse of the moment, Julie Fox, is wearing the hell out of this tight top knot at LaQuan Smith. And we will be too in 2022.

4. Twists
Move over braids, we’re taking twists into 2022. With a little bit of texture, Flying Solo gave new life to a 2000s classic.

5. Ornate Ponies
Sergio Hudson never disappoints. With a little help from amika, the brand brought beautifully accessorized, high-volume low ponies to the forefront of this year’s fashion conversation.

7. Upgraded Wet Hair
Wet hair looks have been making their way through the beauty circuit for a minute now. But previous iterations cannot compare to NYFW’s take on trend. The slick bobs at Carolina Herrera and wet flyaways at Altuzarra are enviable to say the least.

8. Ski Chic
Sporty but so sophisticated. The balaclava is the must have cold-weather accessory. Just take a note from Bella Hadid’s Proenza Schouler look.
