AT THE SCENE. THIEVES, TARGET A ROSEVILLE GALLERIA JEWELRY STORE. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. SMASHING THESE COUNTERTOPS AND STEALING AS MUCH JEWELRY AS THEY CAN. THE THEFT, TOOK PLACE, RIGHTN I FRONT OF SHOPPERS. SOME PULLED OUT THEIR PHONES, TO RECORD THE CRIME. BRIAN RIGHT NOW, POLICE ARE OUT : LOOKING FOR THE GROUP THAT SWARMED THAT STORE AND MADE OF WI TTHHE JEWELRY. KCRA 3’S ERIN HEFT TALKED TO SHOPPERS ABOUT THE ROBBERY. REPORTER: YES, AT GUNPOINT, WITH A SMALL SLEDGEHAMMER IN HAND, 10 PEOPLE ROBBED A JEWELRY STORE AT ROSEVILLE GALLERIA. TALK TO A WITNESS WHO CAUGHTT I ALL ON CAMERA. SHE SHOWED US THAT VIDEO, CHECK THIS OUT. THIS GROUP CAUGHT SMASHING THE WEAPONS IN HAND CAUGHT SMASHING THE CASES OF THE VALLIANI , WEJELRY STORE AT ROSEVILLE’S GALLERIA. POLICE TELL US ONE SUSPECT HDEL A GUN WHILE THE REST SMASHED THE JEWELRY STORE CASES. >> EVERYONE IN THE MALL STOPPED TALKING AND STARTED WATCHING REPORTER THIS WOMAN WANTS TO : REMAIN ANONYMOUS BECAUSE SHE SAW EVERYTHING. >> I RECALL SEEING SOMEBODY’S HAND FULL OF LIKE GOLD CHAINS OR SOMETHING, JUST A LARGE HANDFULS OF JEWELRY. MY VERY FIRST THOUGHT WAS, ARE WE SAFE? REPORTER: SHE SAID THE SUSPECTS WERE IN AND OUT IN 10 SECONDS ROSEVILLE POLICE SAY ALL SUSPECTS ARE BELIEVED TO BE BETWEEN 16 AND 22-YEARS-OLD, AND THEY GOT AWAY IN THESE TWO CSAR CAUGHT ON CAMERA BOTH WAITING OUTSIDE THE MALL. INVESTIGATORS SEEN HERE PACKING UP EVIDENCE, SPECIFICALLY THE HAMMERS BELIEVED TO BE USED TO SMASH THE CASES. AFTER A STRING OF SMASH AND GRABS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, THE ROSEVILLE GALLERIA SAYS THEY HOPE THIS IS THE FIRST AND LAST. Video obtained by KCRA 3 shows a smash-and-grab theft by several people at a jewelry store inside the Roseville Galleria. The video shows around 10 people smashing the glass at Valliani Jewelers and reaching in to grab the jewelry before running into the nearby JCPenney.KCRA 3 has reached out to the Roseville Police Department and the Roseville Galleria and has yet to hear back. The Roseville Police Department said one person held a gun while the others destroyed the store’s cases and took the merchandise. All 10 thieves are believed to be between 16 and 22 years old.Surveillance footage caught the thieves escaping in two cars that were waiting outside the mall, described as a silver four-door Chevrolet and a bright orange Dodge Charger. The Roseville Galleria said this is the first smash and grab it’s experienced in 2022.
