Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You’re IT Gioiella!

Four questions with Pam Dedona, co-founder of Gioiella.

Why did you start your business?

Julie Beitman and I founded Gioiella Jewelry 20 years ago when our children we little. It gave us a creative outlet and we were able to make our hours.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best-selling product is our sterling silver line of earrings. We keep our prices very low and have many repeat customers.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We do many showings with Pop-up shops in the area, real estate firms, and local museums.

Have you “reimagined” your small business?

We are very content with our business as we have found a platform that works for us on Instagram and Facebook. Gioiella Jewelry has a small studio in Westport. We are open by appointment and make ourselves available often. We will repurpose jewelry and keep it current. We take pride in helping our customers find the perfect piece.
